Melani Comfort, ATP
Crafting Connections Through Assistive Technology
Melani Comfort, an empathetic and dedicated Assistive Technology Professional at Binson’s, brings a unique blend of expertise and passion to her role. Her rich background in psychology and years of hands-on experience has solidified her commitment to making assistive technology accessible and tailored to individuals’ unique needs.
My Journey to Binson's
My role as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) here at Binson's is a continuation of my life's passion for making a tangible difference in individuals' lives through the thoughtful application of assistive technology. My professional path began with a degree in Psychology from Benedictine College, followed by diverse roles, including profound experiences with a manufacturer in the industry. My passion truly ignited during my seven years in early intervention, which provided my initial foray into the world of assistive technology. This led me all the way to Peru, where I volunteered at a school for children and adults with different abilities, helping to create and adapt devices to open new doors for them.
Philosophy and Approach
I believe deeply that everyone has the right to communicate, to connect with others, and to engage fully with their environment. This belief drives my mission at Binson's: to prioritize the individual in every decision I make regarding assistive technology. By approaching my work with empathy, adaptability, and an open mind, I strive to meet individuals where they are.
Life Beyond Work
When the day ends, my adventurous spirit doesn't rest. I love exploring the outdoors, whether it's going for hikes with my spouse and our five dogs or relaxing with a leisurely brunch.
At Binson's
Working at Binson's means I'm part of a team that values each person's right to an enriched life. It's here that I can put my education, experience, and passion to their best use, serving individuals and their families as we navigate the path to more accessible, fulfilling lives together.
