Reflections from the Heart of Binson's

Our 70th-anniversary celebration would be incomplete without the reflections from those who have grown alongside Binson's. Karen K's journey is an inspiring example. She became a part of Binson's family in 1981 and has since worked across various departments. A once young high school graduate, she has evolved into an integral part of our family, attributing her growth to the guidance she received from her first mentor, Jim Binson.

Karen's reflections are a testament to our core values, as she states, "Hard work, dedication, caring about your employees are some of the keys to success... I'm proud to be a part of this amazing company who truly cares about our community and customers."

Special Tributes: A Homage to Binson's Contributions

The celebration was accentuated by special tributes presented by State Senator Paul Wojno and District 12 Commissioner Michelle Nard. They recognized Binson's relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to the community.

Senator Paul Wojno, wearing a Binson's baseball cap, addressed the gathering by extending his congratulations to the Binson's family. He commended Binson's unwavering dedication to improving the lives of the people in Center Line city.

Echoing a similar sentiment, Michelle Nard praised Binson family's legacy, stating, "Your family is an example of generational wealth and success... I'm just happy that I can see you (James E Binson), that you can be here this day to enjoy this with us."

A Word from Bob Binson

Bob Binson, the distinguished Center Line Mayor and an integral part of the Binson's family, highlighted not only the significance of this grand milestone but also underlined our city's unflinching support for our endeavors. Marking a fond tribute to our commitment, Bob seized the moment to declare, On behalf of the Center Line City Council, I hereby declare July 12, 2023, as Binson's Day in the City of Center Line.

He recounted the incredible journey of Karen K. Her story of dedication and growth aptly reflects Binson's commitment to nurturing our employees while recognizing their potential. Our core values of being informative, professional, accessible, caring and reliable underscore this nurturing culture that benefits both our employees and customers alike.

Bob's sentiments perfectly encapsulate our work atmosphere: "She's (referring to Karen K) been here for almost as long as I had."

Candice referred to a prized possession, a print of the Binson family's great grandfather at Ellis Island. It serves as a constant reminder of the resilience embedded in our shared history. She stated, "I look at that print and think about America...people that built our country and our community, and the Binsons are one of the greatest patriots."

Her tribute to Binson's contributions extended beyond our business; it acknowledged the vital role we've played in building the health and well-being of our community. She highlighted partnerships such as those with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Ken Fasse Acknowledges Binson's Milestone and Vision

Ken Fasse, a long-standing and trusted leader at Binson's, delivered an inspiring speech that traced the trajectory of Binson's success. He reflected on our journey, highlighting the vision that has established Binson's as an industry leader.

He began by stating, "70 years is a remarkable amount of time to be in business. It's also an extraordinary accomplishment. Only about one half of 1% of all businesses ever get that far." These words, while capturing Binson's achievements, also emphasize our remarkable standing amongst businesses across the nation.

Reflecting on our early days, Ken shared,"All this activity was taking place out of a small pharmacy location on Van Dyke in Center Line... I remember standing in this very building 40 years ago when it was a shell under construction."

Recognizing the vision of Binson's growth and expansion that has made it "the largest independent provider of its kind", Ken commends the leadership of James E Binson. He reiterated Binson’s ethos "Why we started, never losing sight of caring for people, recuperating at home... We've always focused on taking care of both our customers and our people...if you're not growing, you're dying."

Finally, Ken cheered on the new generation of Binson's leaders - Bob Binson, Jimmy Binson, and Nick Binson - lauding their efforts in guiding the company towards continued excellence.
